BYU to the Big East?

This sums up how I feel about the possibility of going to the Big East:

  1. Yeah, I'm not crazy about this idea of being a Big East team for many reasons.

On a side note, the guy who does these drawings is one of my professor's brothers.

  2. Disagree. It can't get much worse for us than it is right now. Going to the Big East for football only would be sort of best case scenario for us at this point for a couple of reasons.
A: We will never be able to schedule the types of teams we want to late in the season (we are certainly not Notre Dame, no matter how much certain BYU fans want to think we are).
B: If it doesn't work out, we can always go back to Independent status (I know the counter to this is going to be exit fees, but at this point, who cares).
C: The Big East WILL retain AQ status. The West would be pretty decent with AFA (would love to get back into their conference, it doesn't feel right not playing them anymore), Boise, Houston (who, now that Boise lost, could be playing in a BCS bowl in a couple of monts), SMU (on the rise again, even though Craig James is a penis). The East will have Louisville, UConn, and Cincinnati (all of which have played in BCS games). You can't tell me that playing Idaho late in the season is better than playing any of these teams.
D: If BYU fails to get into a conference for football, mark my words, the team will either be irrelevant, or possibly even defunct in 10-15 years
